Dr. Beaman is the Director of York Region CBT and a registered clinical psychologist with The College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Dr. Beaman is the Director of York Region CBT and a registered clinical psychologist with The College of Psychologists of Ontario. She utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based therapies. She has been practicing in the GTA since 2008 and founded York Region CBT in 2014. Dr. Beaman completed her doctoral training at Concordia University. She completed much of her clinical training in Toronto at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Mood and Anxiety Program. Dr. Beaman continued to work within this program for a number of years treating individual patients, developing and running CBT group therapy programs and training doctoral students. Dr. Beaman has worked in a number of other clinical contexts including Family Health Teams, academic settings, and interdisciplinary teams. Dr. Beaman received her MBSR facilitator training through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto. Dr. Beaman is a credentialed member of the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT) and a registered provider for Veteran’s Affairs Canada.
In addition to her work at York Region CBT, Dr. Beaman offers consulting to corporate clients and third-party payers. Dr. Beaman leads MBSR groups through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, and practices at another location in downtown Toronto: Medcan.

Dr. Rodrigues received her PhD in Counselling and Clinical Psychology from the University of Toronto (OISE/UT), and is currently registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Dr. Rodrigues received her PhD in Counselling and Clinical Psychology from the University of Toronto (OISE/UT), and is currently registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her predoctoral residency at the Counselling and Psychological Services program at the University of Toronto and the Psychological Trauma Program at CAMH. Dr. Rodrigues has experience providing assessment and treatment for adults with a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, perfectionism, self-esteem issues, life transitions, relationship problems, and stress management. She has trained in evidence-based treatments including CBT and Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT) and integrates across therapeutic approaches to help clients achieve their goals. Dr. Rodrigues also trained at the Mental Health Program at North York General Hospital and the Outpatient Program at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. Dr. Rodrigues has also participated in clinical research through her involvement with the evaluation of the Outpatient Eating Disorders Program at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and as a clinical therapist on a pilot study examining effective treatments for Generalized Anxiety Disorder.

She has been practicing in the GTA for over 10 years. Dr. Bauer completed her clinical internship at CAMH in the Mood and Anxiety Program where she subsequently worked as a clinical psychologist. She worked at the University of Toronto counselling centre from 2013-2018, providing CBT to students dealing with a variety of mental health difficulties. Dr. Bauer provides CBT for a number of mental health issues, including but not limited to various anxiety and mood disorders, perfectionism, procrastination, stress-management, and adjustment to life transitions. Her approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral but she incorporates other evidence-based skills as needed. She is passionate about helping clients identify the values and goals that contribute to a meaningful life. She works in collaboration with clients to identify the main presenting problem and develop an individualized treatment plan that fits their needs. She and the client set realistic and meaningful goals for therapy in order to develop the habits and skills needed to reduce the symptoms that interfere in their daily life, promote wellness and emotional resilience and lead to a productive and happy life. Dr. Parikh received her Ph.D. in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. She has extensive clinical training and experience in assessment and evidence-based treatment of a wide range of psychological concerns, including Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, and Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders. Dr. Parikh provides therapy for other life stressors such as coping with school, work, relationships, perfectionism, procrastination, transitions, and loss. Dr. Parikh’s main therapeutic orientations are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). She also draws heavily from various mindfulness-based therapies and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), in which she has specialized interest and clinical training. Dr. Akman received her Ph.D in Clinical and Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto and is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has been in practice for close to 30 years, working with individuals, couples and families.

She has been in practice for close to 30 years, working with individuals, couples and families. Dr. Akman has had a longstanding interest in psychosocial determinants of mental health.
Throughout her career, she has focused on understanding how particular life circumstances, such as gender and cultural expectations, socioeconomic status, and adverse life events, may be related to an individual’s current mental health difficulties. This framework has also informed her work with couples and families. Her dedication to this area of study led her to various clinical and research positions working in the area of women’s mental health. For the last 25 years, she was employed at CAMH, most recently and extensively as a staff psychologist with the Women’s Program. In that role, Dr. Akman was responsible for providing direct client care to women who had complex mental health concerns along with trauma histories, training graduate students in the provision of trauma-informed psychotherapy, and engaging in program evaluation and development. Dr. Akman recently decided to make the transition from that role into full-time private practice.
Dr. Akman believes strongly that the foundation of effective psychotherapy treatment is the development of a safe and collaborative relationship between therapist and client. To that end, she aims to create an environment in which her clients feel heard and accepted. Dr. Akman is an integrative therapist, drawing from client-centred, emotion-focused and trauma-informed approaches. She sees individuals, couples, and families. As a family therapist, Dr. Akman mainly works with adult family members who want to resolve current or longstanding relationship issues.

She completed her clinical training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre, the Toronto District School Board, as well as Child and Youth Mental Health Services in British Columbia.
Dr. Ceurstemont is devoted to providing empathic, client-focused mental health care. She offers a warm, supportive, strengths-based space to help children and teens flourish. She is experienced in providing social-emotional and psychoeducational assessments as well as evidence-based psychotherapies for various mental health challenges. At York Region CBT, Dr. Ceurstemont offers individual therapy for adolescents, parent-child sessions, and parent counselling. Her approach takes into account the importance of the parent-child relationship and effective communication.

Ms. Sehgal is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario and completed a Ph. D.in Psychology in India. She has more than two decades of experience in psychotherapy with diverse populations.

Her Ph.D. research investigated CBT interventions for adolescents. She completed a bridging program for Internationally Trained Mental Health professionals at Seneca College, in Toronto, Ontario. A recipient of the Fulbright Award for Counselling, she has international exposure to best practices in the field of counseling and psychotherapy.
She has worked with children, youth, adults, and families for individual and group therapy and has been providing services for distress, depression, anxiety, family conflicts, career struggles, workplace stress, and similar psychosocial issues. Her treatment approaches include the integration of cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, trauma-informed and humanistic with a collaborative and client-centered focus.
A member of the American Psychological Association, The Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals, and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Global Clinical Practice Network; she provides services in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.

She works with individuals and families dealing with anxiety, sadness, anger, self-esteem issues, adjustment to post-secondary education, grief/loss, relationship conflict or parenting. Through the evidenced-based use of applied behaviour analysis, primarily positive reinforcement, antecedent strategies, functional analysis and behaviour assessment tools, Lital has been passionately devoted to supporting children and their families. Her primary focus is on behavioural solutions, language development and social skills programming.
Lital has been practicing behaviour analysis in the GTA for over twenty years. For over a decade, Lital has been providing behavioural consultation to families, childcares and schools. Her work has included being a member of multi-disciplinary teams, developing and implementing various social skills training groups for children with autism and developmental disabilities. Over the past four years, Lital’s specialization has broadened to include behaviour consultation services to children with and without a diagnosis which she gained working for the Every Child Belongs facet of the City of Toronto, specifically, supporting the challenging behaviours of children aged two to thirteen with various abilities and backgrounds. She is a behaviour consultant, clinical supervisor for ABA teams, a college professor and a parent herself.

Alesia’s experience encompasses providing assessment and treatment to adolescents/youth (14-19yrs), young adults (20-24yrs) and adults (25yrs+) with various mental and physical health difficulties including psychological trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain as well as OCD, OCPD, ADD and ADHD, cognitive impairment, or psychosocial dysfunction. Alesia will work collaboratively with you to determine an effective, safe and appropriate treatment plan, through the use of therapeutic strategies adapted from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) as well as Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
